Obama Beats Clinton
The votes are in at the Grammys

In what was a preview of Obama v. Clinton 2008, the senator from Illinois beat out former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter for this year's Best Spoken Word album to capture a Grammy. Last night's show also saw a huge upset in the Album of the Year category where long time Jazz legend Herbie Hancock unexpectedly stole the award from pop music favorites.

With Obama narrowly behind Hillary Clinton in the fight for key delegates, any edge helps...even this one. Obama's album, the reading of his book The Audacity of Hope won the award. Interestingly enough, all three already have Grammys won in previous years. Clinton won in 2003 and 2004, with Obama taking his first Grammy home in 2005 for his reading of Dreams From My Father.

A precursor to the bigger awards show possibly?
