JAHS Brewery Founded
This weekend, as snow and cold confined many of us to our homes, JAHS jumped into the lucrative beer market by investing in a homebrewing kit. This is definitely a hobby worth telling your friends about and the result of your hard work (and no more than a $200 intial investment) is a tantalizing beverage that you can slap your own label on. Stay tuned for an official name announcement for the first JAHS beer, which will be an Irish red ale upon completion. Name suggestions will be considered!

Homebrewering is a painless and enjoyable process requiring only $25-$35 per batch after intial investment. You're likely to produce up to 60 bottles of beer at that cost. A few crucial days of hands on work and several weeks of waiting put the entire process at 5-8 weeks depending on your selected beer type but the satisfaction of drinking your own suds is worth the wait. For beginners, there are a number of speciality sites and shops that package everything you'll need into kits. One such site: www.nothernbrewer.com is a great place to start with plenty of instruction as well as an online store.
