JUST ADD HOT SAUCE HANDS OUT THE GOLDEN FELLAS
2007 Academy Award Predictions
UPDATE: Predicted- 21, Correct*- 6, Incorrect- 15
JAHS viewed 15 of the Oscar nominated films in advance. Many of the award winners were shocking, specifically Alan Arkin for best supporting actor and An Inconvenient Truth for best documentary. The politics behind giving the statue to Al Gore are not worth getting into but even worse, an incredible picture (Iraq in Fragments) went completely overlooked. Although JAHS didn't expect to achieve great results in these predictions (since they were biased and based on an incomplete viewing of all the films) it was an even more outrageous 79th year than expected. Still, the difficulty of making these predictions is a testament to hollywood for producing some incredible pictures this year as well as to the academy who at least got most of the nominations right. Final notes- Ellen Degeneres as host was strikingly entertaining and touche to Jack Black and Will Ferrell for jokingly presenting a serious topic that movie lovers want discussed: why not give awards for comedic films/performances? We'll wait another year before we ask again.
